Legislation and procedures

As mentioned before, you're allowed to marry anywhere in South Africa, yes anywhere! As long as the signing of the ‘Marriage Register’, happens under a roof. The ceremony can then takes place outside in the open air. In South Africa you'll have to bring two witnesses to legalize the wedding. If you really want your wedding day to be just the two of you, then you could consider asking someone from your hotel, who wouldn't want to be a witness to a wedding!

When you have been married according to South African law, you'll receive a proof of marriage, which you can use to legalized the wedding in your home country.
