Balinakill Country House
Balinakill nestles on a hillside in seven acres of peaceful grounds on the west side of the Kintyre Peninsula in Argyll, easily accessible by air, boat or road. This impressive baronial country house retains a wealth of period features and is set in mature gardens on the edge of the village of Clachan, one of the oldest settlements in Kintrye.
Balinakill has twelve en-suite bedrooms, an additional children’s bedroom/playroom, three large public rooms, a fully equipped country kitchen, a victorian dining room and a cosy gunroom bar with a wood burning stove. A separate catering kitchen is also available should guests wish to arrange full or partial contract catering during their stay. On arrival you will find the house warm with the fires and the stoves set. The rental includes all fuel, bed linen, towels and kitchen accessories together with a small selection of toiletries and cleaning materials. Hairdryers, tea making facilities and hot water bottles are in all rooms. Full laundry and ironing facilities are available for guests’ use.Balinakill is the perfect location for a week or weekend break, an intimate and traditional Scottish wedding, corporate events, team building, family get-togethers, special celebrations, anniversaries, Christmas and New Year or a suprise party! Whatever the event, Balinakill will make the occasion special and memorable. Balinakill comes alive when full of people enjoying themselves and whether you want live music or a quiet ‘time out’ watching the sunset from the upstairs lounge, with a choice of welcoming and comfortable public rooms, we can cater for everyone.
The bar is often a magnet for those just wanting to chat over a drink, while the dining room allows everyone to sit down to a meal together before ceilidh dancing, partying or just enjoying being together in the oak room or upstairs lounge. A new conservatory room overlooking the garden leads straight onto the barbecue area and is a light, bright room in which to relax or enjoy games and activities. While staying in the house we can offer a full bar service or alternatively you can fill the bar with your own drinks and serve yourself. Why not arrange a drinks delivery for before you arrive? For larger functions we can provide a full bar service and we also offer a BYOB for champagne and wine for which we charge corkage. If during your stay you feel the house needs a tidy, or you simply want someone to come in quietly and reset the fires or service the rooms , we are happy to oblige and will tailor our service to your specific requirements.
