With gardens, farm and mountain nature reserve at your fingertips, Fynbos Estate, is a family run wine and olive farm which offers a variety of outdoor and indoor possibilities for your marriage.
Exchanging Vows
You can marry in the lovely indigenous gardens, on the stone steps of the Pavilion with the Paardeberg Mountains behind you, or you can exchange vows indoors in the old 1850’s celarl, or for small numbers, in the graceful old farmhouse itself.
After the ceremony you may like to have champagne and orange juice or an aperitif together with canapés. These can be served, perhaps while you are having photographs taken, in the chapel courtyard, in the Farmhouse gardens or around the Pavilion pool.
The Reception
For an indoor/outdoor feel the Pavilion under Dragonridge Mountain is a magical space with beautiful views, wooden floors, adjustable awnings and garden courtyards. With very small weddings (30 and under) you could also have your reception under the old oaks in the garden or in `De Perdestal’, the farm’s Sunday Restaurant.
Wherever your reception, tables and seating can be fashioned to your requirements. Capacity in the Pavilion with dancing is 80, but with a free-form tent extension, this expands to 120.
Johan is a chef with a fine reputation for delicious country food and he will take great care in creating a menu of all your favourites, whether Indian, French or South African style spit braai. Wherever possible produce is sourced from the farm’s vegetable garden or surrounding farms and is always homemade and generous in quantity.
And alongside his passion for creating culinary pleasure is Johan’s passion is for making superlative wines, marketed under the Dragonridge label.
All of this – good food, excellent wine, a magical setting – is woven together by Gail’s care in creating an atmosphere suited to your needs.
The weekend and overnight wedding
The farmhouse and cottages can house up to 34 guests sharing in comfortable, charming and relaxed accommodation. Additional camping is also possible. Breakfast the next day is on offer and all the facilities of the farm and nature reserve are available to guests, this makes Fynbos Estate ideal for a wedding weekend.
