Fine Art Weddings
My name is Traci Marie Lee and I am a graduate of the Corcoran College of Art and Design in Washington, D.C. I graduated with a BFA in Fine Art Photography and am currently working towards my Master of Fine Arts. Thread Photography has been a dream for a long time – I could not be more excited for its official beginning!
Thread Photography’s focus is Fine Art Weddings – bringing wedding photography to the fine art level, welding together a documentary style with a fine art background and eye. There are millions of tiny pieces that work together to unfold your special day – that’s how I approach photography. Any minute detail can be exquisite – you just have to find it.
I went to art school on impulse – a mere, basic love for the medium and the knowledge that I couldn’t get away from it. What I found was how I approach and see the world, and why. In my fine art work my focus is personal and collective memory – what we ourselves project and interpret into memory and how we simultaneously influence other’s accounts. Photographing weddings and the beginning of love is a particular honor when it comes to memory – it’s the one day and unique stage that you never want to forget!
One of the most valuable things I walked away with from the fine art school experience was the acknowledgement that I am a bit of a purist when it comes to photography. This means that I will use natural light as much as possible, prefer more candid to overly set up shots, and will not drastically change the original image in post-production. You - are what should radiate in the photographs.
There are no numbers here – no number of shots you are allowed, no minutes confining your day, no number of final images that is driving your cost. Thread Photography is exclusively yours, with one simple package. The goal is always the same – creating images that you will fall in love with over and over again and creating relationships.
