Hi I’m Trevor Rice but most of my friends call me Trev. I am a people person and certainly enjoy all life has to offer; when I became a Celebrant in 2004 I realised I had found the perfect occupation, celebrating life! I want to create ceremonies that help celebrate life; seeing the joy and emotion on a groom’s face as his radiant bride walks down the aisle is priceless.
Working with couples to prepare their ceremony is a joy as their stories often inspire or humble me by their openness. I’ve even been the catalyst for a proposal. During a trip a fellow traveller proposed to his partner of 20 years in front of a jeweller’s shop in Juneau, Alaska. I was told the big news over dinner and joked that I’d travel to the Gold Coast to marry them, which I did a few months later.

I’ve become the Celebrant of choice for many families and have conducted various ceremonies for them. I also get to go to some stunning locations like the stage of the Athenaeum Theatre, Ripponlea, Werribee Park, Stones of the Yarra Valley and many others. Each new location has its challenges and I love solving them. Having been involved in theatre I am a master of improvisation and can respond to difficult situations.
