Chef Richard A. Bailey, Executive Chef and owner, has over 30-years experience in the culinary arts organizing innumerable weddings and special events. His signature is evident through his creative savory cuisine combined with his astute attention to every detail in preparation, execution and presentation.
TASTE 5 Catering indulges in all celebrations and social gatherings specializing in weddings, corporate events and intimate get-togethers each special so to fit your vision, budget and TASTE. Chef Bailey designs customizable menus guided by the principals of sustainability. Every food creation is prepared from scratch, featuring the freshest seasonal ingredients, organic and Colorado products.
ABOUT CHEF BAILEY: Before bringing his culinary vision to Colorado, Richard Bailey was introduced to the kitchen in Sonoma at the Sonoma Mission Inn. When he moved to Napa and took a position at the Robert Mondovi Winery, he discovered his true passion for food and wine. In Santa Rosa, he earned his first sous chef credit at the age of 23. His most memorable experience was traveling to Germany for a position offered to him by Executive Chef Charles Saunders at the elegant Steigenberger Maximilian Hotel in Bad Griesbach where he served as California Specialist, opening and managing a California- style restaurant.
Richard returned to U.S. for his first Executive Chef position at the Marin Country Club. In Marin County serving three years. Following, he secured an opportunity to re-open Sushi-Ran in Sausalito and serve as Executive Chef. Chef Bailey attributes his signature cuisine encompassing the Asian style of cooking he derived from his enlightened experience at Sushi Ran.
Upon leaving California, he polished his skills in resort and club properties across the country. In Texas, he served as the Executive Chef at the Lakewood Country Club, one of the finest private clubs in the Dallas area. Chef Bailey moved to Colorado hired to oversee the restaurants at the Club at Cordillera serving as Executive Chef for over six years.
He expanded on his expertise as Consulting Chef for the Nantucket Restaurant Group, Nantucket, Massachusetts. He later returned to Bay Area to open the Tour Players Club, San Francisco Bay at the Stonebrae Country Club where he served as the Executive Chef and Director of Food and Beverage. In 2008, hired by Destination Resorts, Chef Bailey returned to Colorado to serve as Executive Chef for the Lord Gore at
Manor Vail Lodge.
Chef Bailey today oversees every detail with chef owned and operated TASTE 5 Catering. Originated in Vail, Colorado, Chef Bailey has expanded to Denver recently opening his URBAN KITCHEN located in the Southeast metropolitan area.
