I had the pleasure of recently coordinating Sarah and Cameron’s wedding at the ever so chic Hotel Monaco in Seattle.  Not only did Sarah hand make the chocolate truffles for their favors, but she also included other personal touches such as different dresses for each of the bridesmaids (all in the same color), a photo booth for their guests, and a very fun and sweet dance with her cousin.  This couple was full of fun proven by the karaoke to end the night. 

In addition to a great bride and groom, I met the ever so talented photographer Rachelle Erickson that evening.  One thing that stood out to me about Rachelle was her inviting personality and her hard work the day of the wedding.  Rachelle even had a slide show of ceremony pictures for the guests to view at the reception.   I loved her detail shots, and unique captures of the bride and groom.  Rachelle went above and beyond for this couple and it was evident in her photo’s.  You can see her additional work at her website listed below.  Please take a moment and take a look.

I always love the feeling after leaving a wedding knowing that I clicked with not only the great couple, but also with one of the vendors. This was the first time I had worked with Arthur Kim Photography. I was blown away by his dedication to the couple during the event, and was even more excited to see his finished images. Art captured some really fantastic moments between Nana and Avery, used the assests of the property to capture a great backdrop for the pictures, and was one of the most pleasant photographers I have worked with to date. I would like to take a moment and recommend that you visit his site, and I am confident you will feel the same way I did after working with him. Nana and Avery were a special couple to me because I had coordinated Avery’s sisters wedding the previous year. Having met them at a previous event, I knew working with them would be a blast. Nana had a clear vision of how she wanted her and Avery’s day to look. She incorportated some really great cultural events, which really brought character to their wedding. It was an absolute pleasure to coordinate for them, and I wish them all the love and happiness in their future together.

I had the pleasure of working with one of the sweetest brides yet. Jaime made not only made a gorgeous bride, but she also came to me with some of the most unique and creative idea’s for her wedding. From mini clothes pins that held photo’s of her and Michael over the years strung in the venue to cake for her centerpieces, I knew this would be a fun event to coordinate. Jaime and Michael chose Sodo Park for their wedding venue, which was a venue I had not coordinated at before. This venue has so much character and charm, it was the perfect fit for this couple.

Black, White, Pink, and Damask print filled my vision this past weekend at the wedding of Jillian and Jarret at Sanders Mansion.  I was lucky enough to coordinate this wedding for Jillian (a coordinator with Seattle Bride herself).  The setting was beautiful, the weather stayed cool enough, the drinks were flowing, and the people were undoubtably enjoing themselves.  I could tell right off the bat when meeting this couple that they were going to be fun.  Jarret even wore a pink tie, and pink sneakers to his own wedding.  You have got to know when the groom shows up in that attire, that the wedding is going to be a hit.  The evening started off with a romantic ceremony on the lawn above the mansion, complete with pomanders hanging from both the lattice and from shepards hooks lining the aisle.  The night quickly unfolded into a cocktail hour in the tent where Jarret’s dad’s famous cocktail was served.  Onto dinner, toasts, and plenty of special dances.  Jillian’s sorrority sisters serenated both her and Jarret.  The women in Jillian’s family even put together a rehearsed dance performance for the couple.  The guests enjoyed a cookie/candy bar splashed with plenty of pink treats, and a cheesecake bar doppled with chocolate, Reeces Peanut Butter cups and raspberries.  I had a complete blast with this wedding.  I was also not short of getting my excercise in that day!  The mansion property seperates the lower property from the upper property with a fairly large gravel hill.  I must have gone up and down that hill at least 30 times.  I was definitely kept on my toes for the day, and enjoyed every moment of it.  I was beyond impressed with the creative skills and organization of the bride.  She made by hand all of the pomanders, the family tree’s, and even put together a photo booth for guests complete with props!  This is one for the books and one I will not forget.  Congratulations Jillian and Jarret!

This is a great shot of the pomanders that were used also on shepards hooks to line the aisle at the ceremony. The bride made all of these herself! I was super impressed.

A nice shot of the bar menu. The groom wanted a menu for the bar during cocktail hour. They had this sign made on Vista Print, and it worked great. One of the bar menu items was a "famous" drink that the groom's father drinks, and they wanted to honor him by serving it at their wedding.

An actual family tree made by the bride herself once again. This was a great thing for guests to stop in an look at. The "tree" had family wedding photo's. A really nice touch.

This past weekend I had the pleasure of coordinating Janelle and Shaun’s wedding at Lord Hill Farms in Snohomish.  This tops my list for favorite venues.  It is incredibly romantic with the white lights, golden chairs, and gorgeous views.  Like John and I, Janelle and Shaun too were high school sweetheart’s.  Just being around them on the day of the wedding you felt such a sense of excitement that they were tying the knot.  The weather was absolutely divine for them, and the day was just wonderful.  I know that these two will last forever!

For those of you who may wonder, I coordinated my own wedding along with my multi talented husband.  I thought I would share some of the details with you.   Since my husband and I had our wedding at a very personal location (my husbands family property on Vashon Island), it was important to us to add as many personal touches to the decor as we could.   Some of  my favorite things we did were the sand dollars used for place cards (all of them came directly from the actual beaches of Vashon), the bar and arch that mu husband made out of drift wood directly from the beaches of Vashon, and the family wedding photo’s in which we took the wedding photo’s from our great grandparents, grandparents, parents, and siblings, and had them on display for everyone to see.   The oldest of the family wedding photo’s dated all the way back to 1910!  For our table Numbers, we took photo’s of us at each age and used that as the table number (i.e. table 1 had photo’s of each of us when we were 1 years old).    It turned out to be an amazing day, more than anything we could have imagined.  We received a lot of compliments from people saying it was one of the best weddings they had been to.
